I opened WMC and noticed I didn't have anything recorded after Tuesday. I selected "view scheduled", and it said nothing scheduled even though SNL and Austin City Limits are new tonight and should have been set to record.
TV Listings and EPG Centre both updated automatically this morning, and I ran them again manually just to be certain.
A brief search online suggested deleting the StartRecording task (which would re-build upon re-start of WMC), but this made no difference, other rabbit holes were fruitless.
I did manually add a couple shows, and they stayed in the scheduled recordings after re-start.
I decided to go into a couple series and just going into and then saving the series setting will re-start the series recording. At this point, I might take a few moments and open each and also do some housekeeping by deleting the unused ones.
Is there an easier solution?
Has anyone else seen this?

I'm guessing it was a corrupt file?
Is there an xml file that WMC makes for future recordings?
I opened (or deleted unused) series, and then saved them, and all recordings have been happening as scheduled since Saturday.
I'm also guessing this re-wrote the file?

When I checked scheduled recordings Sunday eve, recordings were only showing through tomorrow, Nov. 2. Checked listings were downloading and EPG Collector was up to date (it was).
I didn't really have any new ideas on where the problem could be, so I opened and re-saved each series, which restarted all the recordings.
Lately a script I run through Python was acting strange, so I repaired the installation today, and now that is running smoothly again.
Any ideas?
Time to reinstall WMC?

I noticed one other issue that seems related. When I search for shows, it cannot find them even though I have 14 days of listings. I can manually find a show in the guide where the title exactly matches the search terms, but nothing comes up during search.

Hi Everyone,
I have a similar problem with series recordings. The series are only updated as far as the EPG is available (usually 14days) after I saved the individual series settings. It records all listed videos at that time, but it does not add new series. Although the EPG shows new series videos, they are not updated in the scheduled series recordings. As soon as I go into the series listings and save each individual series, it does search through the EPG and update the listing properly.
I have a second HTPC running WMC that works perfectly fine (I have stopped MS W10 updates at that PC since February 2022).
I would appreciate if anyone would know about a solution.

I eventually retired the computer I was having that issue with. It was having other issues too.
With the other issues it was having, I'm guessing something wasn't being written/saved properly in a file.
Everything has been okay on my new setup, mid December 2022.
I'm currently having the opposite problem, it's recording all instances of PBS programs not only new (even though the series is set to new) - they repeat 4 or 5 times over a week between the main and World channel.

You don't say what sort of data you are collecting?

WMC keeps everything in the WMC database. No XML files.
If it's back working then just watch out for it happening again and report if it does.
If it happens, what data can i collect?
Thanks!
