Help I dont have elmer or the scratchpad!
I downloaded E-win32-x86-0.8.23d.zip,
unzipped it to C:/erights.org
and ran java -jar e.jar
The OS I am using is Winblows 2000.
Can you tell me what I did wrong?
Do I need to install an earlier version?

P.S. If the zip file I downloaded is just a patch you
should
have state so on the download page.

The scratchpad is (or was) Elmer. It has been retired.
MarcS hopes to eventually write a new one in E, but he
hasn't done so yet. As a reminder, I'm leaving this bug
open and assigning it to MarcS.
In the meantime, you can just use the "rune" shell command.
Do "rune --help" for info on how. If you're an emacs user,
run "rune" from within an emacs "M-x shell" window
and you'll get much of the functionality that Elmer used
to provide.
Both MarcS and I need to clean up our various pages to
stop referring to Elmer (or the scratchpad) as a living
program.
