We were thinking of moving the "Advanced Search" option
out of the "Search" window (it will still be there) but
its better under the "Search" option on the leftnav.
We are thinking of putting it in the configuration file
that option to enable it or not.

I don't think the configuration option will be necessary - if people don't want
to use it, they won't.
Also, see bug #1266845 - it might be possible to resolve that bug at the
same time.
