Greetings, I have had the damnest time getting fam and efsd or efm to cooperate on Linux-Mandrake 8.0. If ayone has tips, I sould be most grateful. I've tried a couple diffferent versions of fam with efsd and a couple different versions of efm and it all comes out as pasted below, even if I set the options in fam.conf as wide open as possible. fam debug output - pretty much the same with efsd or efm [root@localhost bluto]# fam -d -T 0 fam[18122]: log level is LOG_DEBUG fam[18122]: read /usr/local/etc/fam.conf line 13: "insecure_compatibility" = "false" fam[18122]: read /usr/local/etc/fam.conf line 20: "untrusted_user" = "nobody" fam[18122]: read /usr/local/etc/fam.conf line 28: "local_only" = "false" fam[18122]: read /usr/local/etc/fam.conf line 35: "xtab_verification" = "true" fam[18122]: Setting untrusted-user to "nobody" (UID 99) fam[18122]: listening for clients on descriptor 3 fam[18122]: client fd 4 is local/untrusted. fam[18122]: new connection from client 4 fam[18122]: client 4 said: client 4 is sockmeister, and wants a unix domain socket fam[18122]: client sockmeister said uid 501; creating /root/tmp/.famJgduZs fam[18122]: listening for requests for uid 501 on descriptor 5 (/root/tmp/.famJgduZs) fam[18122]: Shutting down connection fam[18122]: lost connection from sockmeister efsd [bluto@localhost efsd]$ ./efsd Can not connect to fam -- exiting. efm [bluto@localhost bluto]$ efm ERROR! cannot connect to FAM! BAD BAD BAD EEEEEEEEK SEGV - waiting 10 seconds EEEEEEEEK SEGV - waiting 10 seconds EEEEEEEEK SEGV - waiting 10 seconds It is as if they make the initial handshake and then turn their backs on other. Things worked fine on the L-M 7 series and also when using 2.4pre kernals. Any ideas? Jonathan Moran mor...@pi... |
