I am using 16.5 right now and just did a "rpm -qa imlib" and it tells me 
I am using imlib-1.9.10-2.  I got it from the enlightenment web site 
itself as I recall.  I used the RPM rather than a build.  It has worked 
for me very well.  I did install the imlib before I installed e as I 
know I was going to need it.  I also installed e from the rpm version. 
 If you do it this way, under the full install of RH 7.2, all you need 
are those 2 RPMs.  Do the imlib first and then e itself.

This installs everything except E-term which is a seperate issue 
entirely but it is completly functional as it comes.  You will have 
quite a few entries in the users menu that do nothing but that is easily 
fixed with editing in gEdit for me.  I added all the apps I would 
normally use, like Mozilla and Mozilla mail, gKrelm, Everybuddy, Doom, 
StarOffice and Quake and so on.

Good luck, try uninstalling all and using the RPM if you can do so,
