On Sun, Mar 23, 2003 at 01:40:35PM +1100, Carsten Haitzler muttered... : I've put together a little "state of the union" summary. With all the flurry of : mail and now questions about E17 I thought I'd put this out. I'm happy to : discuss this and I'll try and update the document - maybe put it up on the : website soon? (currently it's just a text file). : : .... : Ok, so this is not strictly speaking e app wise but I thought ferite deserved a mention. ferite A light weight portable scripting language with a design for sitting in other applications. It is pretty much stable with various features and cleanups being made in cvs. The current stable version (0.99.6) is usable. There will be bindings for the various e libraries once their API is more conrete, as well as the ability to script the behavior of e itself as well as write epplets and other applications within it. It has a sane object model and is very easy to extend natively. It currently works great on Linux, Darwin/Mac OS X, Solaris, *BSD. There is documentation covering all the various different aspects of ferite availiable on the website. The e libraries are going to form the base of the user interface module [to be started soon]. Just thought I would throw my two pence in.
