If I try a program that's just came out and found it too problematic, I'll stop using it and *remember* how it was the last time I tried it. It may keep me trying it again too soon... I think open source is better known for "releasing when it's done", not releasing it when some marketing department thinks it should be done or when a sales department needs it released in order to meet the numbers for the quarter.
