It's probably the drivers... Sorry to say that but Mandrake is known to have a lot of problems with drivers and other stuff too. I've friends who used the same hardware as mine and they had but with Mandrake and they had lots of problems, seriously. And they had to switch OS. I never really liked Mandrake: The first time I installed it, it gave me lots of error messages at startup and blew my laptop to pieces after a while and my latop died after 3 days of installing Mandrake. I had been running with RH for a long time without problems but decided to try out Mandrake and it was really a bad experience!
