Thunderbird offers to store "lists" (i.e. a set of email addresses) in its address book and use the list shortcut in the "To:" etc fields.

Using lists however prevents enigmail from performing convenient encryption.

It seems like enigmail sets the encryption/signing state for an email on update of the "To:" etc fields and doesn't have a public key for the list instead of looking up the actual addresses which the list contains.

I could workaround that by adding a per-recipient rule in which all keys of a lists are selected. However this is pretty annoying as the key list needs to be kept in sync with the actual email list.
