#79 Installation: Pismo file mount will not install
I have been using version 0.10.7 on Windows XP successfully, but I found that encfsmp would not load, with an incomple GUI displayed and an hourglass at the mouse pointer. I uninstalled it and attempted to reinstall it, but the installation stalls after a config file is written to the Pismo folder, and none of the Pismo components are installed. I tried installing version 0.10.8 with the same results. This could be a Windows update issue.
I did a repair install of Windows XP and that did the trick.
Same problem again. EncFSMP ceased to load completely so I tried to uninstall it from the Control Panel and the uninstallation stalled before completion. I used the log of the installation in Ashampoo Uninstaller to complete the uninstallation. Once again the Pismo File Mount will not install. I cannot keep doing a repair install of WIndows every time this happens, so I may have to consider another version of EncFS for Windows
I'm sorry, I don't know how I can help you. Maybe there is an incompatibility with another software? For example this uninstaller?
Please also keep in mind that Windows XP has end-of-life since a couple of years now. It is quite possible that one of the next versions of PFM or EncFSMP does not work on Windows XP anymore.
