From a command line cd into the directory where you have
unpacked the files and type ./configure
This will configure the makefiles for your system
Then type make
Then type make install
That is what is supposed to work anyway. If you have not
unpacked them you need to use the tar command if you are
unfamiliar with this command type man tar at a command line
prompt.
