#1 Integration of MaC's updates

MaC has done some nice updates on EMOS Framework in his project. After his company has given the green light for making this changes availabe to open source community it is now time to do it.

Is it ok if I create tags&branches in SVN? I would check in my verison as a separate branch, tag 1.4.2 and then merge my version over it.

Please let me know if you see issues with this.
