Some users find it more convenient to instrument
everything and decide what should be shown in the
report later (during report generation time).

Should be very easy to do (just add a filter option to
the report tool). See

    Adding a comment to agree. I am currently running emma
    instumentation on several sub-packages of a large project
    and have found that some of the functional testing is
    testing packages on which it depends. Such that the coverage
    for package com.A is 0% because it has no unit tests of it's
    own, but package com.B depends on com.A and were it to
    insturment both it would raise com.A to 80%. I have done
    this but it results in no way to report on just the com.B
    coverage.
