gdiff is not MS-Windows specific. I use it on GNU/Linux
with kdiff3 without problems.
However you're right winmerge.exe isn't a good default.
The latest CVS version doesn't provide an hard coded default
value for `gdiff-program' that must be customized depending
on user's specific configuration.
