All HEDS encoders should be compatible.  Possibly you'd need pull-up 
resistors,
but I don't think you even need that.  These are not differential, so if 
you were going to
feed them into an encoder counter, you'd need to set that channel to 
single-ended
mode with the jumpers.

Yes, same thing about single-ended, and the data sheet clearly shows 
pull-up resistors
will be needed.  probably 1K Ohm would work fine.  I guess you get 64 
quadrature counts
per rev on this one.
