I'm looking at the electronics for stepper CNC systems made by MDFly and sold on eBay by seller usbflying - http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrtsZ200QQsassZusbflying I'm considering it for my Sherline Mill and Lathe retrofits. Few questions about MDFly CNC equipment - is it known to work with EMC2 ? Is there EMC2 configuration already available for MDFly CNC system ? - would be opto-isolated DB25 CNC Brakeout Board a better choice with only small increase in cost compare to their 3 axes kit ? >From auction info it looks like it'll support up to 6 axles and will protect PC circuitry via opto-isolation - are both unipolar and bipolar motors supported or only one of those types ? - what else beside motors, power supply, enclosure box and wires would be required to complete CNC retrofit to Sherline CNC ready Mill/Lathe ? - I gather there are some advantages of modular system, when drivers and BB are separate boards, like easier and cheaper replacement process in case of failure of one of boards. Any other know pros and cons of modular system ? Other experience and/or information related to this system is welcome and would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. |
