System upgrades are usually worthwhile. You should understand though what is happening with any critical packages that are about to be updated. So if EMC is your thing I'd find out what is going one with it. I think (but don't know for sure) that EMC was rev'ed to solve a specifc bug or two. Based on that I'd say let her rip. A smart person though lets the "early adopters" load and report thier results. ;) By the way upgrades are a good thing for the most part esepcially if the machine is to be connected to the internet. A good portion of the upgrades are usually security related.
