I researched this and the reason that sourceforge (along with a number of
internet communities) has one select 'reply to all' and then edit out the
original poster is that it forces one to send a post to the whole list only
after consciously making an effort to do so.
Evidently when the reply automatically goes to the list people can more easily
send a sensitive email to the whole list that was just meant for a single
person.
If most people want to change this I could do so and make it work like the Cork
list is set up but as it sits now we are using the sourceforge recommended
default setting.
What do people think?
