Hi graeme,

to make E-MailRelay even more easy-to-use with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) we made some convenient PowerShell scripts. These make setting up EntraID Applications, OAuth tokens, SASL generation and pasting the (correctly fomatted) string into the authfile of E-MailRelay simple. It also updates the token as needed.

It can be found here: https://github.com/DATA-Systems/E-MailRelay-Token-Updater

In case anybody needs to use this (really marvellous) piece of software as a replacement for Microsoft's ditched internal SMTP services.

As we could not find any direct contact info, we thope this "request" reaches you (and you don't just delete it). This message is meant as a humple request of a hint in doces, as we found some other requests for help regarding Exchane Online here (and on reddit and serverfault). It took a while to figure things out and we'd like to spare other admins the ridiculous quest Microsoft gave to us.

Greetings from germany,
the friendly guys from ugg.li (and DATA-Systems)

You are right that others have asked for help in this area, so I would be very happy to send them your way. Congratulations on deciphering the Microsoft documentation, which has apparently been written by a committee of corporate lawyers.

However, the link is not working for me at the moment -- please could you check?

For direct messaging you can begin with my sourceforge email address, but these tickets are my preferred way of supporting emailrelay -- or the github repository can be used for collaborative work. (I also appreciate sourceforge reviews that describe how you are using emailrelay.)

    It is :-)

Hm, works from this end (right now). Just a (public) github repository, no bells, no whistles. Any error messages?

these tickets are my preferred way of supporting emailrelay

    ✅ We will stay here.

Thanks for your positive answer (and the E-Mailrelay software, obviously). Maybe these scripts help other folks trying to replace the (deprecate)d Microsoft SMTP services. We will update our docs (and scripts), as we may need this in the coming times - MS will drop support for plain username/passwords in SMTP/EXO by September this year. We do feel a demand for a "new" solution.
