[emailrelay-help] email relay for a ASSP - Domino setup

In my previous mail question I made a simple question.

Since then I have been thinking and trying to figure out  a configuration 
that makes use of your relay. Running without any relays does not work and 
the suggestion from ASSP forum
is to use SMTP relay.

Could you verify that this is a valid configuration? 
Could a simpler configuration be used?
