GNU readelf supports a -z/--decompress option which decompresses sections being dumped by x, R, or p options (or does nothing if the section is not compressed). This option is used by the Diffoscope binary comparison tool.

Further, I imagine that with SHF_COMPRESSED support in libelf we would just handle it transparently, and -z/--decompress would be a no-op.
