#9 improve calendar functionality

It would be nice to make the calendar more... functional.

A number of improvements include:

1) Adding the ability to filter the view of messages
(eg: based on participant status or something)
2) Adding "recuurring" events
3) Making it so that it picks up on assignment due
dates, etc.
4) improving the overall look/feel

There are probably more things, but that's an initial
"wish list".

another thing that would be nice is if the "notes" section
ended up in a tooltip so you can mouse-over the
calendar-item and see the notes.
