Hi, I need to add new entities to the system without any approval mechanism using the batch generation tool. Is there a way of doing this. As far as I can see there is at least one approval needed. I use the following command: ./ejbca.sh ra adduser "Project_Keystore_999_admin_1" "password" "CN=999_admin,O=Test,C=TR" "" "Project-SM" "" 1 JS "Project Test" "Project Test" Thanks Fatih Deniz |

Hi, External RA can work like that. There is an option in the edit user message, and you can also enble approvals on the CA side. Hi, I want your opinion regarding changning the design of the current External-RA, I want the registration of entities to be on external-ra side, all entity profiles creation and adding end entities to be on the RA side, and the CA custom worker get these new end entities from message database and approve them. Then the current existing external-RA for issuing certtificate comes for the entities registered above and approved by CA-Admin. You will just have to try it out, I do not know. EJBCA 5 has been tested with JDK 7, that I know. I haven't tested EJBCA 4 myself at least, perhaps someone else has? You should of course make a risk assessment on your particular setup, to know the attack vectors on your system. It differs a lot between different configurations. The RHEL pages for the Java security flaws are: https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2013-5830 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2013-5782 Both lists the same errata pages which all mention java-1.7.0-openjdk or java-1.7.0-oracle as security fixes (even for RHEL5). You should enable debug logging, then server.log will show you much detail about trying to create the provider. For generating user certificates I've added https://jira.primekey.se/browse/ECA-2612 to the extendedkeyusage.properties and did an ant deploy. Then I was able to use the user certificates from my heimdal clients too. I had the same idea to distribute the certificates from samba4, but then I've quit the job where I was working on it :-( Regards. Geza |

It is only Oracle JDK 6 that is eol, open JDK is still supported by RedHat etc. RedHat have patches for jboss 5 to run with JDK 7, as for EJBCA 4, I do not know. EJBCA will come with we releases later this year. Thanks for your quick answer. So for updating to JDK7 due to recent security issues and EOL of JDK6 one has to update JBOSS too. But what about community version ejbca 4.0.x itself? Would this run on JDK7? Ciao, Michael. |
