Hi all, just want to let you know that i finished a test-installation of ejbca-6.0.3 on SLES11SP3. Except for my typo's, a smooth run. Details can be found at: http://ejbca.minoss.nl/vm0017.pdf In this test run, i still used openjdk-6 and jboss-6.1.0 (just changing one parameter at the time) On following test runs i'll use both openjdk-7 and IBM's java, together with a more recent version of jboss. Hans. |

We haven't tested EJBCA 6 on Glassfish so some stuff not working would be expected. I would assume some Glassfish specific deployment descriptors are needed here and there. Should be minor stuff in my belief. If you figure it out, please send us the result so we can include it in the docs and future releases. Amazingly since ant 1.8 has been out for 4 years by now. It does work with SELinux yes. > 2. After install you may upgrade to jboss-eap-6.2.0. I just ran "ant install" on Ubuntu with OpenJDK7 and jboss-eap-6.2.0. This does a web-configure and it worked for me. JBoss-cli seems very sensitive however, and if you have less than 2-3 cores it easily hangs. JBoss CLI is quite unstable unfortunately. Is it repeatable? > 3. I just repeated this as well after registering my datasource according to the description in: http://ejbca.org/docs/installation.html#JBoss If I do like that, it will not find the driver if I use only com.mysql :-) The only issue is that they have changed some default value in JBoss EAP 6.2.0, which previously worked in 6.1.1. https://jira.primekey.se/browse/ECA-3368 Will fix this so default deployment works with EAP 6.2 in the next release. If you use MariaDB I can recommend using the MariaDB java driver. Do you have any other BC jars installed in your system? What JDK are you using? I have no clue why Glassfish would not find "org.bouncycastle.jcajce.provider.asymmetric.rsa.BCRSAPrivateCrtKey" unless there is a collision with some other system installed BC jars. This is usually the case of bouncycastle related issues. There is a server log file that shows what happens on the server side. If there is any error, or if this is a pure client side issue. Otherwise for Glassfish I am not so experienced, it can be quite tricky, especially client side of it... You will surely find there is no problem with JBoss. Of course there is also EJBCA 6 out now. Running with Java 7 and JBoss 7. We haven't tried it on Glassfish (3 or 4), but except for configuration stuff, it should not be anything needed in theory for Glassfish support. Hi, Thanks for your answer. I use EJBCA 4 with Glassfish v2. The stack trace is from the console output from running the command line interface. Do you need an other thing to understand the problem ? I guess you are using Glassfish? EJBCA 4 and Glassfish v2? This error message sticks out. Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.bouncycastle.jcajce.provider.asymmetric.rsa.BCRSAPrivateCrtKey (no security manager: RMI class loader disabled) Looks like there is some issue with perhaps multiple BouncyCastle libraries in use? The stack trace that you pasted is very confusing. You write server side stack trace, although it contains "org.ejbca.ui.cli.EjbcaEjbCli.executeCommand(EjbcaEjbCli.java:118". This is a class only executed on the client. Is that really the server side stack trace, or is it the console output from running the command line interface? Hi,
a happy new year and ejbca 6.0.3 seems to be a great work, upgrade from
4.0.16 to 6.0.3 was successful. I feel there is a significant
performance improvement of ejbca.
While installation (CentOS 6.5) following issues needed some investigation:
1. Use latest ant from Apache homepage, ant from CentOS is too old for
ejbca. Enforcing Selinux does not hurt, so it should be activated.
2. OpenJDK7 from CentOS should be used with jboss-eap-6.1.0 because
install hangs if jboss-eap-6.2.0 at
jee:web-configureJBoss7Cleanup:
[exec] Result: 1
[exec] Result: 1
[exec] Result: 1
[exec] Result: 1
... -> Guru Meditation
while ant web-configure. After install you may upgrade to jboss-eap-6.2.0.
3. Database config needs to be changed while upgrading from JBoss6 to 7:
database.properties must be changed from
database.driver=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
to
database.driver=com.mysql
otherwise ant deploy is not willing to find database driver. This is an
JBoss6 to JBoss7 upgrade issue, but should be documented.
BTW: I am not using MySQL, MariaDB works with ejbca, also.
best regards
Christian

I think we'll probably need to have EJBCA start depending on external Apache Ant on RHEL/CentOS which is more up-to-date, and have the documentation updated to reflect this. 1.8.0 came out three years ago, so it's probably time to do the switch-over :) For what's it worth, the builds should work with Apache Ant 1.8.x (at least it works for me on Debian Wheezy which has 1.8.2). Hi all, I have tested the installation of EJBCA 6.0.3 CE on CentOS 6.5 and if I use ant distributed by centos I get this error during “ant deploy” : [java] Error: Could not find or load main class org.primekey.anttools.ServiceManifestBuilder To solve this error I have used apache ant version 1.9.3 downloaded from official apache ant web site. Hi, We are happy to announce that EJBCA 6.0.3 has been released! This is a maintenance release – 21 issues have been resolved. Running on the latest technology platforms, this PKI is faster, more resource efficient, more secure and more user friendly than ever. EJBCA Enterprise v.6 is so flexible it is suitable for any organization, cloud, social or mobile system. EJBCA, the open source PKI, has been around for quite some time now, since 2001 to be exact. The last major release of EJBCA Community was EJBCA 4, which saw many updates up to the final release 4.0.16 in June 2013. EJBCA 5 was Common Criteria certified, and therefore never released to the public. After a long wait, and much development, EJBCA Community version 6 is now here. The latest release of EJBCA Enterprise 6.0.3, also marks the release of EJBCA Community 6.0.3. Enjoy! EJBCA 6 is the base for future releases of EJBCA Community, so this is a good time to get the source and Contribute. EJBCA 6.0 release notes --- * New Crypto Token concept, giving complete GUI support for configuring signature and keys, either in software or on hardware security modules. Hardware security modules has never been easier. * CMP configuration can now be done in the GUI, and supports multiple different configurations through CMP Aliases. More flexible than ever you can easily set up CMP to talk to any type of device, all with a single instance of EJBCA. * The new Internal Key binding concept merges the Certificate Authority and Validation Authority functionality. Use the same instance, or multiple instances, using the same well known admin GUI as a Certificate Authority or Validation Authority or both. * Full support for the latest platforms. Java 7 and JBoss 7 are now the default recommended platforms, faster, more secure and more resource efficient. * More than 300 issues have been resolved during the development of EJBCA Enterprise v.6. EJBCA 6.0.3 release notes --- * Support for OCSP extended revoked status compliant with RFC6960. * EJBCA now ensures that OCSP RFC5019 responses with unknown response code are not cached. * OCSP now uses archive cutoff date for expired certificates, compliant with RFC6960. * Speedups when starting the Command Line Interface. * Bug fixes for Internal Key Bindings. I need to know if there is any option available in ejbca 4.0.16 public web GUI through which i can revoke end user certificate. My assessment is that i have to work on code level for such change to be available on GUI. If there is some configuration change please let me know the complete details of it. |

Dear mErRYo, If you don't want to approve your actions you should just turn the approvals off. Then your certificate would be issued instantly. You can find all about configuring it in admin guide: http://ejbca.org/adminguide.html#Approving Actions. Basically it means that you should uncheck all approval settings in your certificate profile.
