#34 Eclipse Hex Editor Plugin (EHEP Version 1.1.0) refuses to open files (in linux platform) in hex mode when trying to open files of larger size.

We normally deal with files in GB and the machine got hanged when trying to open in Hex Editor.

Hi John,

There is no pre-set limit on file size. If the EHEP or the whole PC gets hanged, it may be something else, a bug related to either memory limits or something else. There seems to be an issue with EHEP when running on Linux OS, see also https://sourceforge.net/p/ehep/bugs/33/. Do you experience the same symptoms?

Arch - x64
RAM - 4GB

I'm experiencing a similar problem as mentioned in that link. In addition, the whole system is getting hanged and I'm even unable to run the task manager to kill this process. Any workaround exists for resolving this issue ?
I tried augmenting the memory size in configuration file but was not successfull.

Finally I found some time to fix the EHEP Plugin based on your input and details posted also in Bug #33. The attached ZIP file is a pre-release of EHEP 1.1.1. Please can you install it and test it in your Linux environment please? Then let me know whether the problem you reported is fixed.

Hi Randall,

Sorry for late... Regarding the test attachment, I was able to open the file but i am not able to perform scroll down/scroll up to the file which was opened in Hex Editor.
I think the same issue has been reported by Raguram in Bug #33.
when can we expect this to be resolved ?
