i have been having rather severe difficulties getting my nogatech usb device to work - the drivers require i2c libraries, and while there is an i2c.c file in the source tree, it doesn't seem to be in the kernel config, so i am suspicious it's an early version and isn't sufficient for the driver.
my question is: is there i2c support for the ps2? IE can i2c dependent devices work?
sorry for cross-posting - perhaps i should be in the i2c forum - but i am aiming at getting effectv working, and i thought someone here may have run into this...
thanks in advance - any advice is much appreciated
regards
nano

well, nearly a month and at least 40 hours later, still no luck at getting i2c to work - it compiles, but won't load, and i just get lost at some point in it.
meanwhile, the effectv list has been strangely quiet - i should've thought someone's run into this before; i am baffled as to how people use effectv without i2c - most webcams and video inputs i've come across require the symbol/character library.
meanwhile, i wonder if there's some fundamental reason why it shouldn't work?
if there's anyone out there with an idea, encouragement, or indeed any feedback whatsoever, aim and fire.
thanks!

No, we're not dead.
Maybe I'm only one who have PS2 Linux in here.
I'm sorry I don't know about I2C or any Linux fundamental
layer (no matter PS2 or i386).
hey - i have ordered a linux kit for playstation 2
and would like to use effecTV using the eyetoy camera for live motion capture effects - if someone would walk me through installing the software and geting the program running using the eyetoy usb camera - i would appreciate it - never used linux - i'm an artist - any help would be awesome - email = pegasus009@gmail.com

To follow up, 3 years later - I found the PS2 nearly impossible to work with. Kernel was so old. i lost interest after trying (unsuccessfully) with the blackRhino kernel.
besides if i ever got it working, it'd be limited to 320x240 to get full frame rate, as it was usb 1.0.
pegasus009, if you've never used linux, don't even bother. i've used it for years and couldn't sort this.
regardless - effecTV rocks!!!! glad ya'll keeping it active!!!

Just an idea: How about blackRhino's new kernel?
You can find it at
