Hi! I'm getting exactly the same problem. New BGEE install, v1.0.2007. I only have affects.uld but kits.uld and numattacks.uld (mentioned here http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/16497/eekeeper/p1) were not included with the download. Could this be the problem?

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition should be a more recent version than that.
If you are using the most recent version of this program, then Kits.uld and NumAttacks.uld is no longer required (which is why they are no longer included).
If you are using the most recent version, then use the /log command parameter when launching the executable (via command line or shortcut) to generate a log file, then upload that log file for me to examine.

I added /log to the shortcut but am not sure where the log file was generated. I'm sorry for bothering you with such a foolish question, I'm an awful luddite. If you would point me to where the log file would have been created, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

The edition is namely THETA and their version update patch seems to directly patch the existing files instead of overriding with new files so maybe their file has a little bit different.
So, when will the new version 1.0.2.4 be released so this issue can be solved? Thank you.

It will be released as soon as I get the interface ready for translation. That requires all the hard-coded text strings to be moved to the resource file and then loaded as required. Doing so is time-consuming since I also need to relay changes in text to the translators. I estimate next week, but to be on the safe side I would estimate no later than the 23rd of this month.
1.0.2014 is an outdated version of the game. I'll run some more tests on 1.0.2014 (I keep backups of every game version officially released) to ensure that the program is working properly - mainly because this was also an issue in the original Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal. If this is a problem related not to the retail 1.0.2014 version, but rather THETA's release, then I cannot help you. Please consider buying the game and updating to the most recent version. :-)

Thank you for your reply. Actually I had bought and are playing the Android version of the Game. I want to use EE Keeper and find that I need the game installed in the PC and I don't think it worth to buy the PC version again just for editing purpose.
Actually, I think that if you can supply the editor with the basic resources (maybe just figures without pictures) which allow game editing without the game installed, it will help to reach the iOS and Android market for those people who do not own the PC version. You program can still scan and get updated info and pictures from the game files if they are installed. It is just a suggestion though.
Thank you again for making such a great editor.

Please note that you can extract the resources from the Android version of the game.
Find the OBB files; use an application like ES File Explorer and navigate to sdcard/Android/obb/com.beamdog.baldursgateenhancededition/, copy the 'main' and 'patch' files to your computer, use 7-Zip to open and extract the contents of both. Where you extract to is entirely up to you, but you can then set the installation directory in Keeper to that folder. I have tried and tested this method myself. You can then copy the 'files' folder located in sdcard/Android/data/com.beamdog.baldursgateenhancededition/, which contains the 'save' folder, directly to your computer, use the 'Browse' button on the Open Save Game dialog, browse to and select the 'save' folder and press OK, then check the box next to 'Use Custom Save Directory'. It's a lot easier to do this than working with a 'third-party version' of the game, and it also ensures the version you are working with is the most up-to-date.
This is a similar method to how the iOS version of the game works, the difference being that the game on iOS is not compressed and so it can simply be copied to a PC without the need to extract the contents.

I don't know anything about unofficial versions of the game. Under the assumption that it is similar to the actual game, then there should be a folder located within the D:\Program Files\Beamdog\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\ directory which you can use.

It happened right after the game updated.
Can you tell me if EE Keeper was running at the time when the game updated?

Without more information, there is nothing I can do. I believe this has been resolved and will upload/update Keeper when I have time.
If you continue to experience this issue after the next release, please feel free to create a new ticket.

The log file should be created in the same directory where Keeper (the actual executable rather than the shortcut) is currently located.

I have the same problem.. :/
Thank you for the log file. I believe this has been fixed for the next version.
There are two questions I would like to ask, just for clarities sake:
You can download an earlier version of Keeper (1.0.2.1) and use that instead, but be mindful of the bugs that have been fixed since then.

You need to find a file called Chitin.key, that's located within the directory that you need to use as the installation path.
