Have you ever played a game or FPS where the heavier
weapons would slow you down? That is the same idea
behind this feature request. Basically, a new flag
would be made to define the rate/percentage that a
certain weapon would encumber a player. The flag would
probably look something like this:

ENCUMBERANCE_RATE=.25; <-- This would encumber the
player by 25%.

The kind of number used, either a decimal between 1 and
0 or a percentage(%), doesn't matter, although I think
decimal values between 1 and 0 would be best so it's
similar to the KICK flag. Also, if the designer sets
the value to 1, he would basically turn the weapon into
an immobile turret, which would be something very cool
to see in Doom. :D

Also, I was thinking maybe two values or flags could be
used for how much the player is encumbered while
running and how much he is encumbered by walking. This
way, the designer can basically force the player to
walk with the weapon, but not slow him down any
further. The flags might look like the following:

WALK_ENCUMBERANCE=0;
RUN_ENCUMBERANCE=.5;

The above values would slow the player while running
down to about half, while walking would be about the
same. If WALK_ENCUMBERANCE isn't defined, the default
value is 0. I hope this made sense. :)

    A cool idea, also what about CROUCH_ONLY where you can
    only shoot the gun if you are crouched like for some heavy
    weapon with a tripod or for a heavy shoulder launched rpg

    Hmmm... I like this idea.

    I could see it being used to mimic a player getting into a
    gun turret or a walker vehicle, sorta along the lines of
    when you pick up the powerloader in Aliens TC: once you pick
    it up you're forced to walk more slowly and cannot run,
    while at the same time the HUD changes.
