#3 UML 2 Support

The tool must provide UML 2.0 conform visualization
techniques. In particular the meta classes "structured
class", "port", "interface" have to be supported in order
to build hierarchical systems.

UML 2 provides many elements that have been used for
modeling embedded software system for quite some time
(ROOM, Rose RT). Providing this soon-to-be standard will
ease the tool's learning curve and increase tool
acceptance.

However, it is not the project's main intent to create a
full-blown UML tool. Instead, the (probably growing)
subset of diagrams and meta classes typically used
today have to be supported (in the first versions).

Some people at Daimler/Chrysler investigated in an AML or Automotive
UML some years ago. The german university project Forsoft2 Automotive
focus at an ADL (Automotive Description Language).
