Hi Marco,

I searched my workspace for a .prefs file, but nothing found. It seems there 
is nothing special.
I had a look on my local copy of the patch files generated. If I open them 
with UTF-8 Editor mode, the umlauts are represented as '?' character.

I'll have a look on the patch creation and give you an info, if I got it.
