According to the eclipse marketplace page, JSO editor supports JSON validation. After installing the plugin however, the validation doesn't seem to be working. Is there something else I need to do to enable the validation, or is that functionality just not available?

It needs to be enabled on a per-project basis. Open up the project properties. Look for or filter by "Json Properties" and check "Enable JSON validation in project."
Any file with the extension .json will then be validated.
Cheers,
Matt.
