I've noticed that this strange behavior does not depend on the
command, and I think isn't a PATH issue either. The command

echo "abcd"

should replace the selected text with the abcd string, but this only
happens "sometimes".

echo always runs fine from a shell.

I'm waiting to solve this problem to recommend the plugin to all my friends=
