Thanks Isaac, I've loaded all the projects into the workspace. Everything seems good. I have several questions 1) what is the folder "_darcs"for? Is it just a reference folder? 2) there is no errors building the Eplise Application, but there seemed to be no Darcs loaded when i build. I might have missed something. When in the built eclipse application, i try performing 'team >share' or 'windows>preferece'. Darcs can't seem to be found. Cheers |

Are you maybe running Eclipse as a special user that has a different environment? If you like, you could try to install the latest development snapshot, 0.2.3, of the plugin. The update manager site for this intermediate build is http://leiffrenzel.eu/eclipse/site.xml. This build requires definitely the Java 1.5 JVM. I will check if it works correctly in the next days and fix anything that is necessary. I will also look at the bug tracker and see if I can do a bit about some of the bugs recorded there :-) Ciao, Leif > BTW. The changelog on www.eclipsedarcs.org is not working. Not by using eclipsedarcs ;-) You'll have to use a command like: # darcs get --partial http://eclipsedarcs.sourceforge.net/repo Which will create a directory called repo holding the source. (if you want a different name either use the --repo-name option or rename repo). Then in eclipse choose a new workspace pointing at the directory where the source is checked out. Then for each eclipsedarcs project directory use File->New Project and give it the same name as the directory. If you have eclipsedarcs installed then on each project you can use Team->Share Project wizard and select darcs. This will add helpful things like icons and stuff for when something is modified. hello, I am looking into the source for the eclipsedarcs, I realized there is repo @ http://eclipsedarcs.sourceforge.net/repo/. However, is there anyway that I can download all the source in one go? instead of one by one? Thanks. p/s: any advice on darcs eclipse source is greatly appreciated Zi Bin |

2006/6/18, Leif Frenzel <hi...@le...>: > Hi everybody, Hi Leif, thanks for the update. There is slight possibility that I will find some time to work on project next two weeks as I will be on business trip to Munchen and I forsee some spare time there. This plus brand new company's notebook at my disposal should result in some work for eclipsedarcs (finally). BTW. The changelog on www.eclipsedarcs.org is not working. This is due my server problems. I hadn't had time to put it back online. So do not expect updates to changelog. Maybe I should take it off from website. Cheers, Radek. |

Hi everybody, I have just pushed a few patches (including some older ones by Radek and me, plus a number of newer ones). Notable changes include: - I did a number of code cleanups, and also switched to Java 5 source format (so that we can use generics for more type safety) and to Eclipse 3.2 (see below). - Renamed Current to Pristine (a change in the Darcs repo format, since Darcs 1.0.7 - both Darcs and EclipseDarcs are of course backwards compatible and can deal with the old repo format). - You can now watch the output from the Darcs commands directly in the Console. Open the Console View and select 'Darcs commands' from the View menu. - There are new actions for 'darcs check' and 'darcs repair'. In addition, I have re-organized the context menu entries and added placeholder for other things that are not yet implemented (e.g. optimized etc.). So far I have not managed to get these actions to correctly show up in the 'Team' menu, I'm working on that one. - actions for recording and reverting from the synchronize view The reason why I have started this sudden activism has to do with the imminent Eclipse 3.2 release. Actually, Eclipse 3.2 is finished, but since eclipse.org wants to do a simultaneous release of ten eclipse.org projects (which all depend on Eclipse 3.2 and therefore still need to do some adjustments), the eventual release will only be at the end of this month (and, fitting to current vogue, that release has a fancy and useless code name too, namely "Callisto" ;-). Now, when this 'Callisto' release happens, there will be a number of different download offers on the eclipse.org website. They will include only Eclipse 3.2 and the software from eclipse.org mostly. The notable exception is the Yoxos distribution (which is done by my company). It will be present on the eclipse.org download site and it includes plugins from all over the community, including EclipseDarcs :-). I think this is a great chance to get a slice of awareness for Darcs and EclipseDarcs. However, the thing is that the plugin must be ready for Eclipse 3.2 - now. And voila - I think I have just made that sure :-) (Hope I haven't introduced too many bugs thereby ... ;-). I have named the current state 0.2.3 and I'll see that this (or possibly another build that we may do in the next days, if necessary) goes into the distribution. Of course I'll also put that build to the usual update site (http://leiffrenzel.eu/eclipse). Apart from that, I also have some more experimental code, which I don't think is fit for anything :-( I'll give you an update about the happenings on the record-front in one of the next mails. Ciao, Leif |

Hi Radek, nice to hear from you again. > Hello, > I just wanted to tell you I have paid for domain eclipsedarcs.org > for another year. > I haven't touched project for quite a while due to lack of time. I'm > guessing nobody has touched it for a while. However the domain wasn't > so expensive so I have paid the price. > > Great :-) Thanks a lot. I have been silent too (which couldn't be missed by anybody ;-), but that's only temporary. The nice thing is that I will give a talk at a conference in May about Eclipse's team support, so I have the perfect pretext for doing some more work in that area :-). If all goes well, I will be able to get down to that in the week starting from the 18th, and then there shall be patches ;-). Apart from that, I and half a dozen people have been using EclipseDarcs regularly in two projects since last October, and (apart from the things that have to be done still in the command line) it works fine (even with the Eclipse 3.2 milestones). So we should definitely try and make it complete :-) Ciao, Leif > Cheers, > Radek. > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language > that extends applications into web and mobile media. Hello, I just wanted to tell you I have paid for domain eclipsedarcs.org for another year. I haven't touched project for quite a while due to lack of time. I'm guessing nobody has touched it for a while. However the domain wasn't so expensive so I have paid the price. Cheers, Radek. |

I do not know Altera but if it is plugin based extension to eclipse it may be possible (however there may be a problems). You can't use Automatic updates though. Best shot would be to download Eclipse 3.1. and try to copy Altera plugins there (or whatever set of plugins it provides). There may be issues though if these plugins are not 3.1 compatible (there are some cases out there). Cheers, Radek. -- Galeria/Gallery: http://zdjecia.zuzia.homelinux.net/ |

The location is relative to the workspace you found the error in try: $WORKSPACE/.metadata/.log or files under $WORKSPACE/.metadata/org.eclipsedarcs.* |

Hi Radek, cool, thanks a lot :-) I'll look into them asap (I'm fairly busy myself at the moment :-( Meanwhile, another piece of good news is that we got a link on the Eclipse website now: http://www.eclipse.org/community/team.html (watch out for the yello 'New' item :-) Ciao, Leif >Hello, > these patches were laying on my hd for some while and I was unable >to find time to complete it. Hi Thiago, > My name is Thiago Arrais, from the hot land of Recife, Brazil. I am > interested in using eclipsedarcs and in contributing to the project > with feature requests, bug reports and the sort of things good users > are able to do. Great to see you here, too :-) So welcome from me as well. > I noticed there is already a bug tracking system set up for the > project (and I have already taken the liberty to sign in). Would you > rather get feature requests and bug reports through the bug tracker, > through this mail list or a combination of both (like bugs to the > tracker and features to the list)? I agree to Radek's view, most of the discussions that are related to a single issue are well placed in the bug tracker. Whenever anybody feels that something needs discussion and the attention of other developers, he is invited to post to the list. The same goes for ideas, remarks about Darcs usage and so on :-) Ciao, Leif |
