What do you think? > This doesn't really help me as it's the directory listing I want ECB for. I've set up ecb to embed speedbar as suggested by Eric Ludlam and this seems to be working OK. Speedbar takes an interesting approach to this problem by doing most of the work in functions that are called when emacs is idle. Maybe something similar could be done for ECB??
