If nothing works you can do: 1. make a .emacs file which adds only the load-pathes of the packages ECB and JDE require 2. Remove all *.elc files from the packages 3. start Emacs with "emacs -q -no-site-file" 4. Load the libraries with: - M-x load-library RET jde - M-x load-library RET ecb 5.
