Hello all, in recent times I've grown very fond of using distributed source code management tools. Especially for free/libre/open-source software, distributed SCM is the way to go. I've mostly used darcs [1] so far, but I'd now like to try others as well. I was originally going to use mercurial [1] (used by ALSA, Mozilla, opensolaris) for Ecasound sources, but due to some problems in importing the Ecasound CVS tree, I decided to go for Git [1] (used by Linux, Wine, Xorg, ...) instead. So now there's a public git tree, containing full history info, available at: - http://ecasound.seul.org/ecasound.git To get the latest sources, first get git (I'm using git 1.5.x), and then: sh> git clone http://ecasound.seul.org/ecasound.git ecasound-git sh> cd ecasound-git sh> ./autogen-cvs.sh sh> ./configure && make Good links to get started with Git: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Git_(software) - http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/ - http://git.or.cz/gitwiki/Git Good general papers about current state of SCMs: [1] http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Apps/scm.html http://www.dwheeler.com/essays/scm.html -- links, my public keys, etc at http://eca.cx/kv |
