In our testing environment, we use the IMAP package from Washington U. 
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.washington.edu/imap/">http://www.washington.edu/imap/</a> 
 
And we have confidence that Hermes can work with QMail also. That part
is pretty standard.
