[ebxmlms-general] MSH: Key length error

The following error occurred when launching MSH in Tomcat 4.1.31. JDK 
1.4.2_08-b03 and mySQL 4.1 were being used. Any suggestion?

[10001] Initialization error
Exception: hk.hku.cecid.phoenix.message.handler.InitializationException
Message: Specified key was too long; max key length is 1024 bytes
