Ed,

We've used Tomcat 5.1 OK.

Someone posted a note on the connection URL on 5.1 requiring a "/" on
the end - but we did not see that problem.

Not sure about Java 1.5 - not tried that yet.

I guess if you really need 1.5 for some of its new features - then you can
try it....
