Hi Chris, Have just release v1.24c of the billing engine which corrects the errno problem. Please download and and give it a go. I'll be checking the sf.net site more often now and mailing lists so promise to be more responsive. I'm also planning some future releases and would welcome any additional requirements into the feature requests and forum posts I've added on behalf of clients. This installation guide appears to be designed for a server administrator. I don;t have direct access to shell to do a lot of the things that you are instructing here. Do you have another installation guide that is targeted at people who are trying to install your software in a shared hosting environment? Hello, Is there a way one can have the customers VAT-registration number printed on the invoice? I currently "abuse" one of the address-lines, but that's just a work-around. Customers VAT registration number must be printed on the invoice if the customer wants to reclaim VAT. It would also be interesting to have the VAT registration of the customer in the database. Hello,
I use a shared web hosting service. For
access, they provide me with cPanel.
I have uploaded all of the necessary components to the
site.
The problem is that when I go to the site, it brings
me to an ebills page with a start button. Is this
normal?
Next, when I click on the button, it pops up a window
that is blank.
I did make sure to config the files for mysql db.
Did I do something wrong?
eBills is located in the following directories:
/ebills
/ebills/etc
/ebills/
/ebills/lang
/ebills/pdfs
/ebills/bill_templates
/ebills/_config.inc <--Had to put this at the /ebills
root or I get errors

Hi,
I've just joined this group and I'm trying to try out e-bills.
The installation went fine and it looks like everything is working - but I
cant seem to produce any bills.
I've tried a few things - but an example of what is not working is: -
1. I create a new Customer
2. I add a contract for the Customer (an "Open" contract from a previous
date [1 Jan 2005] to a future date [1 Jan 2008])
3. I add a "special" one-off charge to the new contract
4. I activate the contract
5. I go to the Bill Management --> View next bill menu and pick my new
contract and it says "Overdue" and lists the special charge I added in step
3 above
6. I click on the "Print" button but all that happens is a page that says
"Using the billing engine, No bill produced"
7. If I click on the "Start Billing Run" menu item and then click the "Go"
button a popup window opens and it says "Background billing run" and
"Completed" and headings are displayed ("Customer ref", "Contract Ref",
"Date of bill") but nothing else is listed.
8 If I click on the "View issued bill" menu item and then try to list all
issued invoices by clicking the invoice number "search" button nothing is
listed (I'm not surprised because I didn't successfully create a bill I
suppose).
Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?
Actually I'm also a little confused where there are Customers --> Contracts
--> Charges - can a Contract not be the cost for a customer? (like, for
example, a monthly retainer charge to a customer?).

I'm having trouble logging in for the first time. I enabled the MySQL query log, and I don't see any activity--PHP does not seem to be hitting the database for the su/password user. I don't see any error message from E-bills. I checked the MySQL credentials--they are fine. I also see the entry in the users table.
