Hello, I have migrated from the PC world to the Mac world and much to my sadness, EasyABC does not run on Catalina. Are there plans to support Catalina? If so, any idea when? If not, any recommendation for an ABC environment for Catalina?
Or, anyone know how to run it on Catalina? (I found a way to run Audacity, which is also not 64-bit, but I don't have the knowledge to adapt that method to work for another program and in any case might not work for EasyABC's multi-program architecture.)
thanks!
Dave

Not sure what the issue is here. EasyABC 1.3.7.9 is available as a 64-bit app on Mac. Audacity 3.1.2.0 is also 64-bit on Mac.
Both were installed on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro running High Sierra without issue. When I updated to Catalina 10.5.7, there were no issues at all with Audacity. But I did jump through some hoops to get EasyABC to work. I’m no expert, so I can’t say all I did was necessary or even the best approach, but these steps worked for me:
My first attempt to update to Catalina 10.5.7 generated a warning indicating that EasyABC was not compatible with Catalina and would not be installed. I cancelled the Catalina install.
Next, I uninstalled EasyABC and redid the Catalina install without issue.
From then on, EasyABC launched normally. View, Edit, Playback, and Printing all worked as expected without issue.
I have no idea if this works for later versions of MacOS. I have delayed further upgrades based on many reports of Big Sur and Monterey performance issues on older Macs.
Hope that helps,
Rick.

Any plans to update to 64 bit for new mac OS versions? Many users would appreciate this.

With Catalina up and running, I followed the advice by Adrian Brown posted here: https://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?/topic/23567-easyabc-and-macos-big-sur-end-of-the-road/&do=findComment&comment=210918 Specifically, I downloaded and installed EasyABC 1.3.7.9 using the dmg at this location: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mnXH6DD_PYFSrjyLvFpJ_m0ZA90qgmaG/view
When I tried to launch EasyABC, Catalina complained that I’m not allowed to launch an app from an unknown developer..
The instructions on the following link solves that problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIKV8H3IynQ

Has anyone been able to get EasyABC to work on Monterey 12.2.1?
