    Assuming this is a non-copper(UTP) adapter, this is a known issue and has already been fixed and in test at the moment; an updated release should be available on SourceForge very soon. Otherwise, if your 82571 has a RJ45 connector for a Cat-5 UTP cable, please let us know and provide the output from 'lspci -n'.
