when i use it in eclipse3.3rc4(june,8th) , i encounter a problem. when i finished install epic , i can not start eclipse. when eclipse begin to start(to load workbench of epic), it will be no response.
Both the stable and snapshot EPIC fail to install in today's Eclipse 3.3 (Europa) final. Using the update manager to install EPIC one gets:
Java Persistence API Tools (1.0.0.v200706250000-77--CYQCCz-CoRPCCCH) requires feature "org.eclipse.datatools.enablement.feature".
Even when including all 3.3 update sites that come with the standard "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers" package, hitting the button "Select Required" does not find the required feature either.
I've had no issues installing or using EPIC with Eclipse 3.3. I'm using Windows XP SP2 and Sun Java 6u1. I started with the Europa download called "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers", and then installed EPIC 0.6.11 through the testing updates site.
org.eclipse.datatools.enablement.feature is part of the DTP project. It is NOT part of the download I used, so it sounds odd that EPIC would be choking on it.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
-1- wait for a new version of this EPP package ;-)
or
-2- choose the "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers" as described by Jack Tanner, using the 0.6 update site http://e-p-i-c.sf.net/updates/testing (at this very moment the EPIC updates sites are down)

I had no trouble running EPIC in 3.3.RC4 (sorry, I am not sure if I used http://e-p-i-c.sf.net/updates or http://e-p-i-c.sf.net/updates/testing in RC4).
Thanks,
Arjan.

The
Java Persistence API Tools (1.0.0.v200706250000-77--CYQCCz-CoRPCCCH)
requires feature "org.eclipse.datatools.enablement.feature"
is an issue with the "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers" EPP package. The error occurs while installing any additional feature; see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=194959
This specific package is currently no longer available for download at http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/

-1- wait for a new version of this EPP package ;-)
