It uses a new structure that IMO is much more efficient than the one used in 2.5.x. Hello, I believe that 3.0 has a tentative beta release on June 2nd. The stuff in the CVS / dynapi3x is the recent stuff, plus some extra stuff floating around on the DynAPI-dev mailing list (which I think will eventually make it into the version 3.0). I'd say definitely start converting scripts from 2.5.7 to 2.9/3.0 (3x), as it is under active development. There's a page on the site somewhere that describes the changes. Some of the 2.5.7 widgets may or may not yet be converted to DynAPI 3.0. If some widget is missing, there may be a new way to do the equivalent thing, or maybe the widget needs to be converted to the new library. I believe Opera 6 & 7 work, but I'm not positive. Leif P.S. If anyone can better or more fully answer, please do. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dev" <de...@ti...> To: "dynapi help" <dyn...@li...> Sent: Monday, May 26, 2003 9:55 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Help] Dynapi 3.0? and a bounch of questions > Hi! > > can someone please explain this thing for me... > > Is there a dynapi 3.0 or is that still 2.9? > > I found the cvs (or whats its called) today on sourceforge but didnt understand a thing... :) But i found out that the "dynapi3x" is still 2.9 there atleast... so well... Hi! can someone please explain this thing for me... Is there a dynapi 3.0 or is that still 2.9? I found the cvs (or whats its called) today on sourceforge but didnt understand a thing... :) But i found out that the "dynapi3x" is still 2.9 there atleast... so well... I think I need some info on what is happening :) Sorry for this stupid mail but i dunno anything and get a bit seasick with all the diffrent versions. And aswell do you think i should update my scripts from 2.5.7 to the 2.9 version or 3.0 (if it exists) or is it about thesame? I am mainly using loadpanels and ordinary dynlayers so its not so advanced... And does anyone know if opera works with dynapi with some special setting or coding? Thanks in advance for your answers. Best regards Daniel Tiru |

Hello everybody, Can you provide, please, an example of using LoadPanel? I'm trying to figure out how to load an XML file to be locally parsed then to populate a table with its elements. I know about richardinfo.com but how I am supposed to see the loadpanel examples? Thank you, Grig |

Good day, My name is MRS. LOUISA.ESTRADA,the wife of MR..JOSEPH ESTRADA, the former president of philippine located in South East Asia. My husband was recently impeached from office by a backed uprising of mass demonstrators and the senate. My husband is presently in jail and facing trial on charges of corruption, embezzlement, and the mysterious charge of plunder which may lead to death sentence. The present government is forcing us out of Manila to avoid demonstrations by his supporters. During my husband`s regime as the president of philippine, I realized some reasonable amount of money from various deals that i successfully executed.I have plans to invest this money for my children's future in any Viable and Long term business in your country, hence, my contacting you. My husband is not aware of this because I wish to do it secretly for now. Before my husband was impeached, I secretly siphoned the sum of $15,000,000 million dollars(fifteen million united states dollars) out of philippine and deposited the money with a security firm and transport it as valuable goods and consignment through a diplomatic means. I decided to contact you because I want you to go to the security company and claim the money on my behalf since I have declared that the crates contained Solid Gold which belongs to my foreign business partner. you shall also be required to assist me in investment in your country. I hope to trust you as a God fearing person who will not sit on this money when you claim it, rather assist me properly, I expect you to declare what percentage of the total money you will take for your assistance. When I receive your positive response I will let you know where the security company is and the pin code to claim the money which is very important for now, let all our communication be by e-mail becuase my line is right now connected to the philippine telecommunication Network services. Also send me your telephone and fax number too. I will ask my son GINGO ESTRADA, to contact you to give you more detail on after I have reecived a response from you. Thank you and God bless you and your family MRS LOUISA ESTRADA |

I don't think the getAll() feature is supported in DynAPI 3.0. Raymond, Thanks for the response. I noticed that the way the library includes worked had changed, and I had changed it locally, but that didn't help. The code that you have listed below works, but my 6thgear.js needs to use dynapi.document. So what I'm doing, is that I'm calling: dynapi.library.setPath('../dynapi/src/'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.api'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.ext.DynLayerInline'); from inside my 6thgear.js to set things up. Then, later on in my 6thgear.js, I need to call dynapi.document.getWidth(); And that's when I'm getting the errors. I put an alert in the setPath method to make sure that was getting called, and it is. And the error isn't complaining about dynapi, it's complaining about dynapi.document. Shouldn't I be able to call dynapi.document from inside the included js? Does this have to do with the BeforeLoad creation stuff in the changelog? Thanks, Jesse Raymond Irving wrote: >Hi Jesse, > >This solution should work. Hi Jesse, This solution should work. Note that the 6thgear.js file is included after the core APIs are included and that the APIs dont' use the .* extension any more: new extensions: dynapi.library.include('dynapi.api'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.ext.DynLayerInline'); Please modify you code to reflect the following: <script language="Javascript" src="../dynapi/src/dynapi.js"></script> <script language="JavaScript"> dynapi.library.setPath('../dynapi/src/'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.api'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.ext.DynLayerInline'); </script> <script language="JavaScript" src="../js/6thgear.js"></script> <script language="JavaScript"> alert(dynapi.document.getWidth()); </script> -- Raymond Irving --- Jesse Vitrone <je...@6t...> wrote: --------------------------------- Hmm....as I described, I have my demo.php that includes dynapi.js, and6thgear.js It seems that if I try to use dynapi.document in my6thgear.js, it doesn't like it, but it's OK to use it furthur down inmy demo.php. This is probably just my lack of JS knowledge here, but, I'll askanyway: How come? Why isn't it available for me to use in my jsinclude? I was able to do this with 2.5, what changed? I'm getting this error when I mouse over or out of a textarea or text field in my app that uses DynAPI. Error: [Exception... "'Permission denied to get property HTMLDivElement.parentNode' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "<unknown>" data: no] Any idea what this might be from? When I make a simple example with DynAPI, I don't get this, so I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing, but I have no idea what. Also - with Mozilla 1.4beta, and Firebird .6, I can no longer type in these text fields, that are getting this same error. Again, with my simple examples, they work fine, so I think it's me, and not Mozilla. I was getting this error with Mozilla 1.3.1, but I was ignoring them because they didn't seem to effect anything, but now, with the newer builds of Mozilla based browsers, I can't type inside these text fields, so now it's making me look into this error. I'm hoping someone with a good knowledge of the code will be able to look at this error and say "oh, you're getting this error because you forget to do such and such". To see this error for yourself, try this: Go here: http://www.6thgearsoftware.com/geardemo/demo.php Click "login" (you're automatically logged in for the demo). In the "admin panel" on the bottom, click "new" Keep the "text" template type, and click "next" Now try to type in the area where the Sample Text is. Any help would be appreciated. PS - I'm using DynApi 2.5.? (I don't remember if I'm on .6 or .7) I'm interested in using 3, but last time I tried, I was having some problems. I'm going to try it again once I get this problem fixed. |
