I don't think that is possible. How would you load 2 files in 1 layer anyway? I believe the loadQueue is used so that it doesn't try to load to html files at once because this will not work in Netscape. You can load 2 html files in 2 different loadpanels and then you getHTML from each one, then add the content to another layer if you want. -- // Robert Rainwater On 12/11/2000, 8:59:19 PM EST, b0n3z wrote about "[Dynapi-Help] LoadQueue.prototype.add = function(url, loadpanel) ? in loadpanel": > In the latest release of DynAPI - in loadpanel.js - there is this: > LoadQueue.prototype.add = function(url, loadpanel) > I wanted to if this would allow you to have 2 or more html files loaded into > one loadpanel? and if so - can someone give me an example of this please, > Thanks, > Ken > _______________________________________________ > Dynapi-Help mailing list > Dyn...@li... > http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/dynapi-help |

In the latest release of DynAPI - in loadpanel.js - there is this: LoadQueue.prototype.add = function(url, loadpanel) I wanted to if this would allow you to have 2 or more html files loaded into one loadpanel? and if so - can someone give me an example of this please, Thanks, Ken |

For fonts you should be able to define regular CSS tags. #big {font-size:30pt} <span class="big">Big Text</span> For crashing, don't worry about it too much. I noticed Netscape was crashing a lot also, but after switching to inline crashes it's pretty darned stable, hasn't crashed on me thus far (in Netscape 4.76/Linux) even after literally dozens of reloads. Hey all, This one is a little hard to explain but I suspect that if someone else has run across this they will recognize it. I am using all inline layers here. I have one layer with 2 child layers. There is text in the two child layers. For some reason Netscape is ignoring all font specific information for the span tags that are around the text. Is there an accepted method of setting font information for a layer in NS? Also, with Netscape 4.75 using DynAPI causes NS to crash. I know NS normally crashing but this is about 1 in 3 page requests, which even for Netscape is a little high. Have I missed something I should be doing with the API to prevent these crashes? Hello everybody. I'm new to the list, and I'm just catching up to all of the capabilities of DynAPI II. I have a question about pathanim.js. I would like to chain one animation after another to create a sequence of animations, and I can't seem to figure it out. I have looked at the example for pathanim.js, and I figured I could just add my second animation sequence somewhere in the 'onpathstop' event, but it doesn't seem to work as expected. -- John Sturgeon <>< joh...@Se... <mailto:joh...@Se...> |

Hi, Firstly check the tutorial here: http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=442&group_id=5757 if you haven't done so already. There are different widget models depending on the author, this ones from Pascal Bestebroer. the principle is that you add 1 main dynlayer: function widgetname() { this.superClass=DynLayer this.superClass() this.id="widgetname"+(widgetname.Count++) return this } widgetname.Count=0 widgetname.prototype=new DynLayer() widgetname.prototype.getSubClass=function() { return widgetname } You can't add child layers to the layer yet, 'cause it doesn't exist until the widget has been created, so you create a listener to trigger oncreate, and add child layers then. Basically in your first example you are adding a child layer to something which doesn't exist yet. Hope that helps Richard :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pepe Gutierrez" <jav...@ya...> To: <dyn...@li...> Sent: Monday, December 11, 2000 10:47 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Help] Help on widgets > I'm just and user so excuse me if this is a stupid > question... :) (My name's Javi, not Pepe (it's a > little mistake, sorry)) > > I want to make widgets and I have tested two ways to > add DynLayers inside the widgets. > > The first way is simply something like that: > this.aLayer = this.addChild(new DynLayer()) > > The second one is somthing like that: > this.aLayer = new DynLayer() > > l = new EventListener(this) > l.oncreate = function (e) { > me = e.getTarget() > me.addChild(me.aLayer) > } > this.addEventListener(l) > > Only the second one works. Well, you can use any "normal" div layer with the DynAPI (see the tutorial section on "inline layers"), and then after the "normal" div has been "captured", you can use the standard DynAPI methods to modify or acessing it. addChild() is a method of a DynLayer not a standard javascript method. If your widget is not yet a dynlayer (because you haven't specified it as so), the addchild method does not exist yet and you can't use it. btw, do your parent know about the name mixup? ;-) Pascal Bestebroer pb...@oi... http://www.oibv.com -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: dyn...@li... Onderwerp: [Dynapi-Help] Help on widgets I'm just and user so excuse me if this is a stupid question... :) (My name's Javi, not Pepe (it's a little mistake, sorry)) I want to make widgets and I have tested two ways to add DynLayers inside the widgets. The first way is simply something like that: this.aLayer = this.addChild(new DynLayer()) The second one is somthing like that: this.aLayer = new DynLayer() l = new EventListener(this) l.oncreate = function (e) { me = e.getTarget() me.addChild(me.aLayer) } this.addEventListener(l) Only the second one works. Why? I prefer the first is more simple and easy. I have found some code using the first one, but it doesn't work. What's going on? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi! Here is attached a modified glide.js and wipe.js to use it in the DynAPI2. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pepe Gutierrez" <jav...@ya...> To: <dyn...@li...> Sent: Monday, December 11, 2000 10:52 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Help] glideTo? & wipeTo? > Hi! > > Where can I found the glideTo and the wipeTo methods? > > Thanks > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Yahoo! Am I correct in understanding that you can't execute javascript inside = of a loadpanel ?!?!? |

Okay then, AS you may recall, I have been messing around with trees.. Now, since the skintree node was Way slow (and caused a 10 meg memory = leak after 4 reloads in IE) I had to find anothewr, now I have. The main = problem with the one I am using, is that the entire tree is built in = memory and THEN the induvidual divs (yes it used plain divs) are written = out and rendered.. This is all fine and dandy, I figure I'll just load a 'splash' screen = into a loadpanel and distract the user while the tree is rendered.. Now = I have just one problem, I need to=20 be able to put the HTML that makes the tree up into a div (mainDIV).. How do I do that? if I wasn't using dynAPI (I'm using it for the = loadpanel and scroll) I wuold do it normally, But it seems that dynAPI overload the normal method of referencing and = modifying an object..=20 Well, to cut an already way too long message a bit short.. How do I reference and modify a 'normal' DIV throught the DynAPI? Doug Melvin |

I believe you say: alayer.doc.images["imagename"].src = anotherimage.src -- // Robert Rainwater On 12/10/2000, 6:30:00 AM EST, Tal wrote about "[Dynapi-Help] Manipulating Images on layer": > Hi, > I'm new to DynAPI 2, so I hope my question is not that stupid: > I'm building a slideshow application > I need to load an Image on screen and then, start preloading all the others in its category. > But I want to refered to it with-in a Div. > from what I've understand, I need to : > 1. I can't even remember my first DHTML. It was back in the good old days when Netscape ruled the world and IE was version 3.0. I started making silly Layer movements using Netscape 4.0 Then I joined a web research team in the university. I had to find out how all that web stuf could be used in an educative manner. Building HTML interfaces interactive enought so you can study and learn with them. To go where no man had gone before, which is the point of research, after all. I had already done many cross-browser scripts when I first found Dan's tutorial. It was not even half what is now, then. I started copying and using the widgets, until they became too limited for what I had to do. A question arised: should I go back to do things my way, or should I help improving DynAPI so it is suitable for my new needs. That was about one year and a half ago. I've never read a book. I use them only for method reference. In my opinion it is only a matter of challenge: either you fail and sink or you emerge as a better code. thanks, just fixed it, all except the Section 4 point, it says you can post them, this also includes the mailing list.. and as far as I know the bugs and patch areas are still used (right?) just not so activly as the mailing list (personally I like the mailing list solution alot better, not having to visit sourceforge :) you can find the new version here http://www.dynamic-core.net/core/files/faq.dynapi2.html or at sourceforge http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/dynapi in the documentation area. This info is not consequent with 2.1 * Section 4, is this resource still being used? are bug posts/fixes & patches etc kept up to date, or is it all mailing list/CVS now? * In 5.3 you reference 2.2 for forums, should be 2.1 I think. Richard :) ----- Original Message ----- From: Pascal Bestebroer To: Help Sent: Sunday, December 10, 2000 12:28 PM Subject: [Dynapi-Help] F.A.Q. updated I just updated the F.A.Q. and uploaded it to my site http://www.dynamic-core.net/core/files/faq.dynapi2.html I also included it here as attachment.. One of the things that should be added is a topic about the CVS part, but I think Dan or Robert know more about that, and can add that :) It could be added to chapter 4 (4.3) if you want I can add it, but I need some info on how to set it up under linux, windows and if possible Mac. This new f.a.q. now also uses the W3C style sheet, giving it a nicer look. If there's more to add to the f.a.q. please let me know. cya, Pascal Bestebroer pa...@dy... http://www.dynamic-core.net |
