Unfortunatly what you are doing "cross-domain scripting" was labeled a security weakness and and is now disabled in most browser by default. That's as far as direct JS interaction.. you can still use stuff like the soap libary to pas information around. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Tiru" <de...@ti...> To: "dynapi help" <dyn...@li...>; "dynapi-dev" <dyn...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2003 6:43 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Dev] Frameset permission workaround? > Hi folks! > > I have a huge problem with some frameset and pages on diffrent domains. Yes Doug no docs on the new style object. Things are a bit quiet at the moment. Hi folks! I have a huge problem with some frameset and pages on diffrent domains. And I thought of you all who are really really good at JS :) Case: We have one frameset at www.test.se witch includes a js-file from kalle.test.se. So long it works fine. the js-include from kalle.test.se have a coupple of links and one link opens a popup from kalle.test.se. In this popup there is a link to one other page at kalle.test.se, the problem here is that the link should be opened in the middle frame called "main" on the www.test.se frameset. We get a permission denied when doing this, even if we call a function that resides on www.test.se that we call. Is there any way to go around this that you can think of? best regards Daniel |

Happy B-D on your way to the nice age of 30 mmm nice vintage that is :) I'm on a DynAPI break I've desided to learn flash from the ground up and it's going real good. I think I will port IOS over to flash. I writing a new small api for flash using the same theme system I have for IOS and now you can change theme for the my widgets (components) using live preview. Flash is a cool tool when you FORCE your self to learn it (SOOO Boring) Cheers. Hello Folks! I'm back! :) I have had to mutch to do latly, making a catalog for a friend for pressing, took to mutch time, i have became 25, was alot to do before that... and with dinner for 46 persons it became better than i expected. And i got a XBOX! (another reason for not developing) but i have not used that alot yet... but if time comes, i will. So how is everything going here? It havent been alot of activity on the lists what i have seen, and no cvs updates at all? I have restarted my project on building a homepage again... (www.tiru.se) and I am offcourse using DynAPI! Any new widgets/components comming out soon? I will try to finish the window widget soon, just some small things to fix before it can be released. Well well, hope to hear from all of you! Hi Raymond, right now i am going through your asp - ioelmsrv code and doing a re-write for our project just a remark on your comment in the function below: '* Get Request - returns a value from either the Request.QueryString or Request.Form Object * Function wsGetRequest(ByVal name) '# Get requested data sent by client via GET or POST '# Note: ASP Request Object returned a very strange object type. '# This is my only workaround Dim vl, mode mode=wsGetRequestMethod() If (mode="post") Then vl=("" & Request.Form(name)) If (Not IsValid(vl)) Then vl=("" & Request.QueryString(name)) wsGetRequest = vl End Function ANY Request returns a String (If present) or NULL (if not present) In our Team we'll ALWAYS use IF(LEN(TRIM(REQUEST(SOMETHING)) > 0 instead of the quirky '"" &' thing. --> the TRIM Converts the NULL Value to an EMPTY String, AND LEN returns 0 if no value was passed One Final Note: You don't have to distinguish between Request.Form and Request.Querystring - a simple Request("something") looks through all server collections(.form, .querystring, .servervariables) and returns the first found match. if you'd want me to send in the finished code, i'll be more than happy to. Whoa! 550kb for SODA sounds a bit heavy. What's in that thing? :) I think something like the SODA should all maybe be grouped together and split off onto a sub project like we did with the VDE. Having the actual server code for arious languages in the examples folder was convenient at first but it's a bit awkward now. And as more languages come in and some may be heavier than others, maybe the whole SODA stuff could be split off into a sub project. Ideas? Hi, Last week I mentioned on the dynapi-help list that I had written a Java servlet that communicated with the dynapi IOElement. I feel that this work is now ready for a wider audience, so I'm anxious to put it onto sourceforge. I see two options: 1: I create a new project on sourceforge called "sodaservlet" or some such, and manage it myself. 2: It might be possible to put it onto sourceforge as some kind of "sub-project". The whole thing includes a number of dependent jar files and when zipped up weighs in at about 550KB, so I think it should be a separate download to the dynapi library. Any opinions or suggestions? Andrew. |

Bugs item #840767, was opened at 2003-11-12 09:31 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=105757&aid=840767&group_id=5757 Category: DynAPI 3 API Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: David Haggard (dhaggard) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: mouse_ie.js null error, with possible patch Initial Comment: Background: Two objects on page (among others, but these seem to be the "offenders." 1) A single DynLayer with a single assigned eventListener for mouseover/mouseout, and using the glideTo method. Used to scroll a navigation menu up and down at top of page. 2) A form button, disabled by default, with a "title" attribute set. No onmouseover trap defined for this button. Symptom: On rapid mouseover over the button, javacript error in line 71 of mouse_ie.js. "null is not an object." Interesting that this only happened when the mouse was moving quickly. Never happened with slow mouse movement. Lines 70-74 in mouse_ie.js -- ---------------------------------- if (e.type=="mouseout" || e.type=="mouseover") { if (r && (r==src||src.isParentOf(r))) return; //fix for #15 (ie only) //if (r&&(r==src.parent||r.isChildOf(src.parent))) me.bubble=false; if (r&&(r==src.parent||r.isChildOf(src.parent))) me.bubble=false; } --------------------------------- I eliminated the problem, with no affect on correct functionality, by changing to this: Lines 70-76 in mouse_ie.js -- --------------------------------- if (e.type=="mouseout" || e.type=="mouseover") { if (src != null) { // error handler if src is null if (r && (r==src||src.isParentOf(r))) return; //fix for #15 (ie only) //if (r&&(r==src.parent||r.isChildOf(src.parent))) me.bubble=false; if (r&&(r==src.parent||r.isChildOf(src.parent))) me.bubble=false; } } -------------------------------- May not be the best fix, but it worked for this strange error. I searched and searched, and never could find WHY this error was occurring with a form button that is in no way using the DynAPI. David Haggard ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=105757&aid=840767&group_id=5757 |

Hi Michael, I like the game. I tested on IE6 Windows and Mozilla5 Linux. Both get a little quirky after you get past level 1 or 2. Things like; the invaders get stuck and don't move (great for shooting them!); when the invaders are low the user gun just won't fire or move. It looks as if the memory is ok (no leaks) but the cpu gets up at 100%. Maybe it's some rogue timer threads on the go? Just a note that the zip archive has all binary files. I can't extract on Unix properly to sort out the end of lines (EOLs) for text files. Not a huge problem as I see you have Mac carriage returns (CRs) for EOLs. So I can run a perl script to change them to Unix line feeds (LFs). Though if the text files had the 't' label in the zip archive this wouldn't be a problem as I could do an "unzip -a". Not sure if this can be done on a Mac? - Kevin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Bystrom" <mi...@mi...> To: <dyn...@li...> Sent: Thursday, November 06, 2003 7:52 AM Subject: Re: [Dynapi-Dev] Space Invaders 0.2 (with sound) > > Hehe... > > I will leave it for a while to see some feedback, but top scores should be > implemented I think. How about it? This next week I will have a very light load due to the end of my = current contract. I _WILL_ put some hours into the dynapi project. The question is one of priority, which do you folks think can use my = effort more? The AutoDoc system I mentioned earlier or a new Compatability matrix (plus a bunch of testing to populate said = matrix of course) Also: I just installed Windows 2003 with the latest IE 6 variant. So more testing .. and a whole lot of issues if I know my MS product = history.. :-) I am also guessing that there has been no IE 4x or NS 4x testing in = quite a while (if at all with dynapi 3.x) If anyone knows how to de-evolve win98 to have IE 4 I would certainly = like to know how. Otherwise, I'll have to get win95.. (icky, icky, icky!) It should be interesting to see just how many MS OS's I can install on = one pc.. so far I have gon as high as three.. (not including DOS of = course) --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.536 / Virus Database: 331 - Release Date: 11/3/03 |

Hehe... I will leave it for a while to see some feedback, but top scores should be implemented I think. Maybe use database for online stuff... I will start fiddling with VDE again but... I've always wanted to do something like the old Zelda game hmmm this would be fun yeah I like to do that next break :) > Den 03-11-06 04.22, skrev "Raymond Irving" <xw...@ya...>: > > And while you're at it... And while you're at it... How about some more levels, new space monsters and the ability to save the top scores unsing the Cookie Class? :) -- Raymond Irving --- Michael Bystrom <mi...@mi...> wrote: > > Funny you should ask... > > http://www.michaelbystrom.com/download.php > > I already done the sound version for version 0.1 but > there is a bug in (I > think all) browsers that will make the dynlayer to > (flimmer) when they are > active ie moving, sliding, dragging etc. hence > making the game unplayable... > But as I was watching star wars (clone wars) about > 30 min ago it just hit me > to use a external html file to trigger all the > sounds, there you go. ;) > > I will fine tune it some more maybe some music etc. > I will also add music to > the tetris and snake games... Funny you should ask... http://www.michaelbystrom.com/download.php I already done the sound version for version 0.1 but there is a bug in (I think all) browsers that will make the dynlayer to (flimmer) when they are active ie moving, sliding, dragging etc. hence making the game unplayable... But as I was watching star wars (clone wars) about 30 min ago it just hit me to use a external html file to trigger all the sounds, there you go. ;) I will fine tune it some more maybe some music etc. I will also add music to the tetris and snake games... I like it. Michael > Den 03-11-05 14.56, skrev "Raymond Irving" <xw...@ya...>: > Wow! Awesome! > > How about a little sound effect with the FlashSound > class? > > Nice work > |
