Dear users, DWSIM 5.0 packages are now available for download at http://dwsim.inforside.com.br/wiki/index.php?title=Downloads . This release introduces a new, simplified cross-platform Graphical User Interface (GUI), adding support for native look and feel on Linux and macOS. Windows systems are also supported by the new interface, of course. The old (classic) interface is still available for Windows and Linux users and is included on the installation packages. Tutorials on how to use the new interface are available on the official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzzBQrycKoN5XbCeLV12y3Q Version 5.0 also introduces a very important feature, called Dynamic Properties. You can now use python scripts to add your own properties to a flowsheet object, using them on additional calculations. You can, for instance, include additional parameters on a Valve to calculate its pressure drop based on a defined opening. A tutorial explaining how to use this feature will be available soon. Many bugs were also fixed. Thank you for your valuable feedback, as always. If you have a bug to report or encounter issues running the new interface, please report them using the forums ( https://sourceforge.net/p/dwsim/discussion/?source=navbar) or the ticket system (https://sourceforge.net/p/dwsim/tickets/?source=navbar). On Windows and Linux, make sure to keep automatic updates enabled ( http://dwsim.inforside.com.br/wiki/index.php?title=Automatic_Updates) to automatically receive future updates for this release. Due to Apple restrictions, macOS users will have to download a new file on each update, but they will be notified upon availability. Take care, Daniel |
