I am using DWSIM to try to build a biomass gasification model. The main issue that I have is to model the thermo/ properties of the biomass that will feed the reactor. I need to define a composition of it which are basically the following pure components; C, H, O, N,S. In order to do that and since those components are not available in the in-build components data base I was trying to use what you call "new compound creator study" in order to define them . In reality the only info I have and need for each of the components is the enthalpy of formation besides the molecular weigh . After I save the xlm file and then call it using (User-defined datasets) and then (add User Data set) I am able to see it in the components list. but when I try to added I get this message:

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index

At the same time I cannot see any of the properties that i defined for the component.

Thank you! for any info that help me to solve this issue

You need to have information about the basic molecule, at least. It doesn't need to be exact, only something close to the real one so the compound creator can calculate some required properties. What exactly do you have as input data?

I also have the same problem. I have the data of weight percentage for each element.

    Volatile matter (wt% db) 51.5
    Fixed carbon (wt% db) 27.4
    Ash (wt% db) 21.1

    C (wt% db) 33.5
    H (wt% db) 4.78
    N (wt% db) 2.39
    S (wt% db) 1.31
    O (wt% db) 34.44
Lower heating value (db, MJ kg−1) 17.50

Do you have an idea about the type/class of the biomass (hydrocarbon, carbohydrate, protein, etc)?
