I don't know what's going on---all of a sudden all the videos I download from You Tube are all too large a file to put on the DVD Styler DVD discs. Why is this suddenly happening?-----I have compressed the size of the video file on the Joyoshare compressor and it's still too large.
Are all the movies uploaded to You Tube being made in a larger format now?
    What is the solution?

Feed the webm file you downloaded to DVDStyler and let it take care of re-encoding and fitting to a DVD.

    Cheers

Thanks -- how do I feed the webm file to DVDStyler?
I don't understand what is a webm file

When I drag the video files from You Tube into DVD Styler it shows the message that the file is too large to fit on a DVD disc--even after I put it through a video compressor.

You can't drag a video from YouTube into DVDStyler, I tried. Didn't work, not for me anyway.
I use GT Player to download the file to the hard drive, then load it in DVDStyler, in MP4 format usually. You can also use Any Video Converter to download from many different sites besides YouTube.

You can't drag a video from YouTube into DVDStyler

I have no problem with that. I download using yt-dlp.

The downloaded file is a .webm container with a VP9 format video and OPUS audio format.

    Cheers

I download the videos from You Tube into MP4 format then I put them into the DVD Styler.
I didn't have problems before-- but now all of a sudden every video I download from You Tube won't fit in the DVD Styler and I keep getting the message that "the file is too large to put on a DVD disc" even after I compress the file---I don't have that problem with the other videos I download.
Just videos downloaded from You Tube keeps getting that message.

JMJ, I'm doing it over with the video bitrate on 'auto' to see if it works--maybe I accidentally switched it off that before---let me check it first

No--I put the video bitrate on 'auto' and it's still acting up as long as I have the You Tube videos in the lineup
When I take those You Tube videos off , all the others fit---There's something new about the You Tube videos that they're not fitting anymore--no matter what I do that message keeps coming up again

How (which software) do you download? Which version of DVDStyler are you using. Previously (I think it's recified now) there has been problems with the size calculation for MP4 files if they besides the video track had an additional MJPEG track. Could you make a MediaInfo text report like I attached in previous post and attach it to a post.

    Cheers

Peate9, JMJ, do you have any idea what component the You Tube videos have that the others don't that's making them too large?
I'm using both Tubedigger and Streamfab to download You Tube videos

I downloaded Mediainfo but don't know how to open it--it didn't make a desktop icon

Normally it's in the context menu (right-click) but you may find it in c:\Programs\MediaInfo.

I don#t know Tubediggger or Streamfab but you may try using yt-dlp

    Cheers

    I did a test.

First I downloaded your video with default settings in yt-dlp with this command:

    yt-dlp "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdJX8ZmLTk"

This download a WebM file with video in VP9 format and audio in Opus format. I could use this file in DVDStyler without problems.

Next in order to get a MP4 similar to the one you downloaded I first used the command:

    yt-dlp -F "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdJX8ZmLTk"

to see the available formats, Attached yt-dlp_MP4.jpg.

I downloaded the video with this:

    yt-dlp -f 135 "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdJX8ZmLTk"

    and the audio with this:

    yt-dlp -f 140 "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdJX8ZmLTk"

and muxed them using My MP4Box Gui, Attached MyMP4Box.jpg.

I could use the resulting file in DVDStyler without problems.

The MediaInfo report is attached, MediaInfo_MP4.txt, and comparing it to the one you uploaded I can't find any difference that could explain why yours arn't working and mine is.

As I said I don't know the software you use to download but my only advice is try to use yt-dlp.

    Cheers

Thanks--I just looked up the yt-dlp---and it looks complicated to use as I'm not computer savvy.
The Tubedigger and Streamfab are more simple downloading platforms where I just need the url of the You Tube video to download it.
I don't understand why you were able to put the videos on DVD Styler without problems.
I'm using version 3.1--Is there another version to use?

I also went further and tried it. This is what I got with GT Player. Pic 1
That file loaded in DVDStyler no problem.

    JMJ, Peate9
    Thanks for helping
I also have other videos in the DVD Styler with the You Tube video but the Styler accepts only those--which version of DVD Styler are you using?

Just one of the You Tube videos fits--but as soon as I put another You Tube video with it or other videos the error message comes up again.
Try putting that same You Tube video in twice and the error message comes up again.

I'm using DVDStyler ver. 3.1 64 bit on Windows 11.

I picked 4 random videos on Youtube, downloaded them with GT Player, chose the best version in MP4 format. All loaded in Styler no problem. Then I downloaded your video in both MP4 and webm versions.
The MP4 version loaded fine but the webm was audio only. So I converted the MP4 into WEBM with AnyVideo Converter. The file size went from 295mb for the MP4 to 533 for the webm. I could have played with the settings cause it looked terrible. but that's not the issue.

I was able to load the webm file twice in DVDSTyler without a hitch.

My suggestion to you is use the software I use and see if it works. MP4 is the way to go or MKV also works fine.

I used vers 3.2.1 x64. Also 3.1 x86 as a test. Both worked fine with a .webm file.

I made this Youtube Video about it.

Peate9's post made me download vers. 3.1 x64 and again it had no problems with the .webm file. The size of this file is 206 MB.

    Cheers

Thanks--I don't understand why mine is acting up all of a sudden--it was working well before.
I download my videos into the MP4 format. I don't know if updating to 3.2.1 version will help or not.
