I would really love some help please. I've recently downloaded Dvdstyler and Im trying to burn my project to disk but it is failing.
This is the errors that I am getting - can anyone please help me?
The error has to be coming from spumux since the error message is regarding buttons. Reading the error message, I think the problem is that the image of the buttons (three actually, normal, highlighted, and selected) has problems with the color indicating transparency, more colors are present than allowed, or there is some overlap of buttons.
The second problem shouldn't be the case if you used buttons from the DVDStyler interface. The third can be checked by selecting each button on each menu and making sure the red rectangle around the button does not overlap with any other button's rectangle.
I would check for the last two problems first and if they are not the case, go to Configuration > Settings > Core and enable Don't remove temp files, and then burn the project with the option "just generate" selected. Note the temporary directory listed at the top of the burn dialog when selecting options. When the burn has failed, open the temporary directory and look at the images in dvd-tmp. For instance, menuX-Y.mpg_buttons.png, menuX-Y.mpg_highlight.png, and menuX-Y.mpg_select.png, where X is the titleset (0 for vmMenu) and Y is the menu number minus one.
These pictures are what spumux uses to generate the buttons; if the color surrounding all the buttons can't be easily determined, I would expect spumux to abort. The only circumstance I can rationalize off the top of my head is having buttons at the edge of the screen which make boundaries around the buttons potentially difficult. Still, that's a wild guess. See if you can identify anything that might pose a problem.

I got the same error ( "Cannot pick button masks", "Blank image, skipping line -1" ) today. I checked my project and found that the red rectangles (border marks) of the buttons were overlapped. Re-arranging of buttons has fixed this.

I've only encountered this when I place a button too close to another. It makes no difference what button you use, as long as it's placed correctly on the menu. Buttons can also be resized by grabbing the corner of the red outline.

ERR: Cannot pick button masks
ERR: Blank image, skipping line -1
What can I do to correct these errors?
Try DVDStyler 2.0 rc 2
That is the version that I'm using :(
Can anyone help? I have a deadline to meet?

Do you already have a solution? We're 2018, 6 years later no solution given! Still receiving the same error...
Just installed v3.1 and I'm seeing this problem. I checked all my buttons for overlaps.
I managed to fix it by not using the supplied arrow button and using a different sort of button instead.
